The Parish Steward Scheme provides a special highway trained operative to deliver small scale discretionary local highway works to the Parish about once a month. If one man and a van can undertake the work without mechanical assistance, it is within scope. Examples of the sort of work that the Parish Steward can undertake:
- Clearing drainage grips and drain gully covers
- Clearing of small culverts, pipes etc
- Repairing road signs
- Reactive pothole repair
