A MESSAGE FROM BROKEN BRIDGES NATURE RESERVE

We need your help NOW to purchase Broken Bridges the land known as Fitzgerald Farm to retain it as a Community Asset for the people of Salisbury. Through your donations and applying for Grants we need to reach £250,000 by the end of July to be able to purchase this idyllic Green lung in the heart of Salisbury that boarders Lower Bemerton, Harnham and Netherhampton.

Please go to https://mybrokenbridges.org.uk and see what we are trying to preserve.

Thank you!

Historically Fitzgerald Farm was managed as a water meadow system and withy bed. The water meadow ditches fell into disuse at the end of the 19th C but remain evident on the ground with relic concrete bridges and structures and typical wetland vegetation marking the former ditches. The woodland is predominantly Salix Carr, which has not been managed over recent years with many fallen trees and natural re-growth.
